On the 8th July 2006 Brian Cox, my son Dave and I attended the BMW factory's Open Day to promote speedway in general and Swindon Speedway in particular. Of most interest to our visitors, and there were many throughout the day, were the bikes. Lee Adams and Steve Johnston loaned bikes for the day.
The one phrase that was repeated over and over again was, "I used to go to speedway but haven't been for a long time." All supporters of the sport need to work really hard to bring back all of those who have simply faded away from speedway.
