Sky Presenters - who is your favourite?

Suzi

The original Sky Presenter was Suzi Perry. Knowledgeable and full of fun, some of her interviews with riders, notably Mark Loram, were full of insight and very amusing.

Has gone on to "better" things with the BBC and with The Gadget Show.

A consummate presenter.

Jane

Taking over from Suzi, Jane Omorogbe found life a little hard in front of the camera. One had the impression that speedway was not really her sport.

Impressively, she used to travel to and from televised meetigns on a very large and powerful motorbike.

Julia

Not really a Sky presenter, but certainly worthy of note, Julia Bradbury is now to be found on the BBC with the Watchdog programme.

Her Speedway GP coverage on Channel 4 was certainly entertaining, the interview in a swimming pool with Ryan Sullivan one of the highlights. Very enthusiastic.

Sophie

And so to Sophie.

Took some time to get going but is now much more fluent on the microphone. Very pleasant personality and the glamour looks combine to make her a strong contender for the best presenter.

Has taken some time out to start a family and now appears ready to take back the reins.

Abi

Abi Griffiths appeared for two or three meetins at the start of the season and then disappeared.

Never really at home with the cameras nor the riders. Perhaps the fact that her appearances were nearly always cold and damp and that she almost disappeared into her Sky Sports Presenters' coat didn't help matters.

sarra

When Abi left and Sophie was still not ready to return, in stepped Sarra Elgan, wife of Irish rugby forward Simon Easterby.

With a great deal of television work behind her, mostly in her native Wales, she stepped into the breach with great ease and was popular with riders and fans alike.

Certainly seemd to enjoy the job and was fast acquiring a good knowledge of the sport.

Jonathan Green. Amazingly, I was able to find no suitable photograph on the internet of Mr Green.

Quite how he escaped a bop on the nose from England manager Neil Middleditch at the semi final of the 2007 World Team Cup at Coventry is beyond me.

He is endlessly, and exhaustingly enthusiastic.

Kelvin

If we forget about his attempts at computer graphics to illustrate the minutiae of the sport and the unintentionally hilarious "Workshop" explanations, Kelvin is learning the trade of television presenter steadily.

His comments offer the most insight into what is going on - he really does know what he is talking about and looking at, as opposed to some other presenters we could, but wont, name!
